Our Philosophy

Learn from the past

Traditional healers don’t study at university. They serve long apprenticeships, sometimes for decades, where they learn skills passed down over thousands of years. In traditional medicine there are no divisions between the physical, spiritual and mental. All can cause disease and treatment is often multifaceted. A traditional healer is therefore part doctor, part therapist, part priest. The wisdom required to perform these roles and to rebalance the body is therefore considerable. It’s no surprise then that traditional healers used to hold such respect in their communities.

However since the onset of modern medicine, the emphasis has largely shifted to treating only the physical. The pursuit of balanced healing is forgotten and thousands of years of wisdom have been cast aside.

Live for the present

At Meld Labs™, we seek out the most respected traditional healers. We study their ancient medical philosophies, even though they are often so foreign to our western thinking. Then we team those healers with our cutting edge skin care scientists. Together they collaborate to develop breakthrough skin care products that are truly unique. Products that are rooted in nature.  That deliver on their promises. Products that really work.

Look to the future

In return for the wisdom that the healers so freely share with us, we give back. Not because we have to, but because it’s right.

We don’t stand on soapboxes and shout to the world about giving back. We put our money where our mouth is. Instead of running expensive TV commercials or shooting big budget print ads, we get down and dirty. We allocate our marketing budget to communities in need. We work closely with people on the ground to pinpoint exactly what items will make a real difference in their lives. Then we make it happen. And we try to be there when it does.

We do other things too, like recycle and follow good manufacturing practices. But we don’t shout about that either. To us it’s not worth shouting about. It’s just us being responsible.
